An amazing transformation happened with this beautiful Shippan property. The "before" structure was termite infested, structurally unfit and given up to the wrecking ball.
The result of our expertise is this spectacular beachfront duplex that sings! Given the lower level water view obstructions, we put the bedrooms and laundry room on the first floor. By design we incorporated floor to ceiling windows across the living area to take advantage of the magnificent water front, and we created a fully functional roof-deck for outdoor living with stupendous shoreline views.
In addition to the severely confined site, the greatest obstacle we faced was maintaining our design criteria while meeting stringent zoning department requirements.
Another victory!
With this major addition we transformed a typical 1950's Ranch house into a glorious 3900 square foot Colonial. The scope of this awesome redesign included a new master bedroom suite, a guest suite, an au pair suite, a central staircase, a vaulted entry foyer, a second floor laundry, 3 bedrooms, a new gourmet kitchen with a breakfast nook leading to a formal flagstone patio, an attic apartment, 6 bathrooms, a new HVAC system and a detached 2-car garage.
Now this home is spacious, gracious and absolutely amazing!

A dream job! This 1800 square foot, 1950's Gambrel Colonial was expanded to 4200 square feet. We made it handicapped accessible and included a 500 square foot rear deck plus a 3-car detached garage with a second floor apartment. The interior additions and alterations included 7 bathrooms, 2 spa tubs, new hardwood flooring, a master bedroom suite, heated bathroom floors throughout, 5 bedrooms, an au pair apartment, gourmet kitchen, 2 fireplaces, heated floors in the basement and garage, a multi-zone HVAC system, on-demand hot water heating at each source, power venting and an elevator from the basement to the second floor. "Green-friendly" sustainable products that were incorporated into this project include exterior siding, all running trim, deck-wearing surface, railings, columns, and high efficiency insulation. This home is so tight and constructed so well, it could float! |
| The result of our expertise is demonstrated in this charming 3800 square foot Colonial with a 2-car detached garage. The interior of this major renovation provides an open floor plan with 9-foot ceilings, stylish moldings, a country gourmet kitchen with a fireplace, a second floor laundry, an attic apartment, a full master bedroom suite with walk-in Jack and Jill closets, 3 bedrooms, a 400 square foot formal flagstone patio and an extensive storm water run-off retention system. Our biggest challenge with this project was the design and redesign process which was necessitated by local building officials. A hurdle we were able to handle. Successfully navigated and implemented! |

This majestic 4000 square foot Tudor-style residence was expanded by 2800 square feet. The new expansion is seamless and looks like it has always been there. The project included 4 new bathrooms, a second floor laundry, a gourmet kitchen with 2 dishwashers and 4 sinks plus granite and marble countertops, a breakfast bump-out room, exercise room, a family room with a vaulted ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling masonry fireplace, a basement family media-room, a crafts room, a 3-car attached garage with attic storage, interconnecting flagstone patios, fieldstone walls and walkways, a new slate roof, a 500 square foot deck with a redwood spa tub, and lastly, a renovated in-ground pool.
Completing the project while the home was occupied was a bit of a hurdle. Luckily they were the clients from heavenin fact, we are still friends!

A true masterpiece! The original 1250 square foot house was built in 1908. The construction quality was poor and the construction methods were extremely outdated. The scope of the project to rehabilitate this house included modernizing and updating the original floor plan and the mechanical systems - a complete overhaul! The expansion allowed for a new gourmet kitchen, family room, master bedroom suite, 3 bedrooms, an attic apartment, 3-1/2 baths, a 2-car attached garage with an in-home office and an upstairs au pair apartment, giving this amazing home 4300 square feet of fabulous living space. To complete the setting, the grounds were beautifully landscaped and outlined with low fieldstone walls. The most challenging aspect of this project was marrying the "old" with the "new" so that it would look as if it had always been there. The result - success at its best! |
